A Gorgeous Retreat Venue Rich In Local History
The original 1 room school opened in 1900 as the Errisvale Provisional School with an enrolment of 15 students.
​
It became Laravale State School in 1907.
​
The original building was extended in the late 1950s & then again in the late 60s to include a library and staff room, pretty much as it is today.
The school ceased being used as a Primary School in the late 2000s,
and was utilised by the Beaudesert High School until the end of 2012.
​
The Old Laravale School sat unoccupied until we purchased it in October 2015.

According to the Lonely Planet Guide the picturesque Scenic Rim region of SE Qld is in the top 10 regions to visit, number 8 actually.

Our wonderful retreat venue is located just over 1 hours drive from the Gold Coast, Ipswich and Brisbane.
The Buildings
Willmann House
In September 2019 we relocated an old farmhouse from Wolffdene and spent 18 months renovating (a little longer, ok a LOT longer than we originally thought ) to become your charming group accommodation.
Errisvale Rooms
The old school classrooms make an excellent workroom,
conveniently located adjacent to Willmann House.
Dorothy's Cottage
We live in a sweet worker's cottage at the opposite end of the school.
Dorothy's Cottage was relocated from Beaudesert in 2016.
I am close by, but far enough away to maintain your privacy.
Who Meets Here?
The Scenic Rim Astronomy Group meets on the oval twice each month.
If your stay coincides with a viewing night, you are welcome to pop down and have a look through the telescopes.

Sewing With Wendy runs regular sewing classes & workshops in the Audrey Room of the old school building.
​
The Scenic Sewers Group of the Australian Sewing Guild meets here fortnightly on Friday evenings.
​
Other groups also meet here from time to time.
